If the NHL ever decides to study growth again to create greater sales for the league, under is what a 36 team hypothetical league could look like.

Based off a put up from Reddit through 831, the 4 new teams will be the Aeros, Thrashers, Whalers and Nordiques.

There could be two conferences with 3 divisions in every conference.

12 groups in every conference could make the playoffs, with the pinnacle 4 groups in each division making it.
