TSN Radio: Former Tampa Bay Lightning GM, player and agent Brian Lawton was on TSN Radio 1050 Toronto and in his opinion, he believes that Steven Stamkos will not re-sign with the Lightning and will sign with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Lawton stated, Stamkos’ family, agent, friends, and trainers are all in Toronto and that he wants to play for a big market team like the Leafs.

The Canucks would like to free up his $6 million dollar cap space and Miller would like to contend for the Stanley Cup. Miller owns a limited no-trade clause and will have some say in where he ends up, if dealt.

The Hockey News: Coach Patrick Roy was not too happy with Matt Duchene at the end of the season. There was speculation that the Avs were looking to trade Duchene at the start of the season. The Ottawa Senators were even calling the Avs about his availability. Duchene lacks a no-trade clause. The Avs’ asking price, however, will be expensive. Given their lousy defensive numbers over the last three years, they could seek a top-two defenseman.
